Enrollment as a priviledge

Student and Parent Support.

Enrollment at LACA is a privilege granted by the Administration, and the Administration reserves the right to deny enrollment to any student. Furthermore, the school reserves the right to remove any student who fails to follow LACA’s standards, policies, or philosophies. LACA expects parents to support, and encourage their students to support, the same.

Non-discrimination Policy.

Los Angeles Christian Academy recruits and admits students of any race, color, ethnic origin to all its rights, privileges, programs and activities. In addition, the school will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin or any other characteristic protected by law as it applies to such a nonprofit religious organization, in our educational and athletic programs in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, employment, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.



Los Angeles Christian Academy will not discriminate on the basis of race, color or ethnic origin in the hiring of its certified or non-certified personnel.



ENROLLMENT LIMITATIONS

The following enrollment limitations are representative and not exhaustive.

Student Body Limitations.
 Students are admitted to LACA based upon available classroom space, personal character, and scholastic record. The school reserves the right to place a child in a lower grade if deemed necessary.

Academic Limitations. 
LACA does not currently have the capacity to effectively serve students with certain academic limitations.

Discipline Limitations. 
LACA will not accept students who have been expelled from other schools or who have a history of disciplinary problems for behavior such as excessive absenteeism, drug or alcohol usage, aggressive behavior, or immorality.

Age Limitations. 
A student may not be admitted to LACA who will be twenty years old or older at the estimated time of graduation.

Student Marital Status Limitations.
 Students must reside with parents or legal guardians in order to remain in school, even after the age of eighteen if still enrolled. Students that are married or who are single parents are not permitted to attend, nor can students become engaged to be married while enrolled at LACA.

Parental Custody Agreements.
 Written statements regarding custody agreements must be disclosed upon enrollment and documents maintained on file. These documents must be legitimate orders from the court and must provide specific instructions as to pertinent custodial matters that affect the student.


  1. Contact the School Office
.

    Parents must complete and return a student application form (available at the school office or online) to the school office.

  2. Interview with the Pastor.

    
The school office will arrange an interview with each new student accompanied by at least one parent or legal guardian. During this interview, parents will have an opportunity to tour the facilities and discuss enrollment with the school administration. The following factors are consideration for admission into Los Angeles Christian Academy:

    • Conduct, attitude, and previous behavior

    • Absence of previous history of alcohol, tobacco, or other drug use, or a record of truancy or expulsion

    • Commitment to the standards and policies of Los Angeles Christian Academy

    • Promise of academic success as indicated by report cards, transcripts, achievement tests, and/or entrance tests

  3. Submit Forms

    The following list of forms must be completed and submitted in entirety for enrollment:

    2. Medical Information & Authorization for Medical Treatment

    3. Parental Commitment

    4. Student’s Pledge to Excellence

    5. Pastoral Recommendation (5th-12th)

    6. Financial Commitment

    7. School Transcript
 - Any new student entering the 2nd–9th grades must bring a final copy of his report card from the previous grade. Any new student entering 10th–12th grades must bring a copy of his transcript.

    8. Current Immunization Record
 - Every parent and guardian must submit proof of up-to-date immunizations to our school offices before a child can begin school.

  4. Entrance Exam
.

    Any new student entering the 1st–10th grades will take an entrance test. Upon completion of the test, administration will contact parents with the results of the test.

  5. Payment Due Before Classes Start.

    Once the registration/book fee has been paid in full after acceptance into LACA, a student will be considered fully registered. This fee must be paid before the first day of school. This fee is nonrefundable.


Enrollment Status

Re-enrollment at LACA. 
Reenrollment at LACA is done through Intent-to-Return Forms. All families who do not withdraw is assumed to be enrolling their student(s) for the upcoming school year. Accounts must be current in order to reenroll.

Withdrawal from LACA. 
Student withdrawal must be conducted by the parent (or legal guardian) through the school administrator. Should it become necessary for a student to transfer, the parents will be responsible for the tuition through the current month of the student’s enrollment. No refunds will be given for partial months of tuition. Outstanding tuition and fees must be paid in full at time of withdrawal. School records and report cards cannot be released until all accounts are paid in full.

Transfer to LACA. 
Students desiring to enroll at Los Angeles Christian Academy who were previously home educated or enrolled in another school will go through the admissions process. Admissions staff will request all documentation of academic, disciplinary, and specified records for consideration prior to acceptance. Students will be placed at appropriate grade levels and scheduled for classes that follow a clear path to graduation.

Expulsion from LACA. 
Should it become necessary for a student to be expelled, financial obligation is expected to be paid through.


Tuition and Fee Payments

Registration and Book Fees

Elementary (Grades 1-6): $575

Middle School (Grades 7-8): $550

High School (Grades 9-10): $675

High School (Grades 11): $825

High School (Grades 12): $875

Annual Tuition Rates per Student

Grades 1-12: $4200 per year / $350 per month for 12 months

Incidental Fees per Student

Unexcused Tardy/ Late Incoming: $5 per student per day

Late Stay: $1 per minute after 3:45 pm per student


Tuition and Fee Policies

Date of Payment

Tuitions should be paid by the 1st of every month starting in August and ending in July. Every family should receive a reminder a week before it is due. To sign up for the reminder, please text the number: (833) 682-7712.

Form of Payment
Every form of payment must be cash or check and must go through the staff in charge of finances. Please ensure that you keep the receipt for your personal records. If the family has a special request in regards of their payment plan, it must be addressed with the school administrator, not the teacher. There will be a $25.00 returned check fee for any check returned to the school by the bank. All tuitions are non-refundable and non-transferable whether withdrawal is voluntary or involuntary

Past Due Accounts
There will be a late charge of $25 assessed on accounts that are 3 days late. Moreover, students will be subject to withdrawal, in the sole and final discretion of LACA, whenever accounts become two (2) months past due. Withdrawn students may return to school when payment is made to allow the account to be no more than one (1) month past due.

Tuition Increases
LACA reserves the right to increase tuition during the school year should it be necessary to meet operating costs.

Curriculum Fees
Book fees must be paid prior to the beginning of school and are non-refundable after the first day of classes. Students will not receive textbooks if the curriculum fee is outstanding.

Transfer Student Fees
Monthly tuition payments are not prorated based on start date within the month.

Graduation Fees
Graduation fees for 12th grade are included in the registration/book fees.

Releasing Academic Records
Official report cards and transcripts will not be issued for students whose accounts are past due, nor may students graduate until all fees are paid in full.

Fundraisers
LACA supports the role of fundraising activities in development efforts. Families should try to contribute financially, above and beyond tuition, to help with the development of LACA.
