WHat is LACA?

Los Angeles Christian Academy is an educational ministry of Los Angeles Baptist Church. It is an integral part and cannot be separated from Los Angeles Baptist Church. We believe attendance at Los Angeles Christian Academy is a privilege, not a right.

The school was established in April 2014. It started out with few numbers of student. Today, it has grown! Los Angeles Christian Academy offers elementary education, junion-high education, and high school education.

Most of the curriculum we use in Los Angeles Christian Academy is the Abeka curriculum. Abeka is a curriculum that has been proved to give quality education while keeping a Christ-centered theme.

Los Angeles Christian Academy is registered to the California Department of Education with the School Code: 6146831

OUR CURRICULUM

Abeka (known as A Beka Book until 2017) is a publisher affiliated with Pensacola Christian College (PCC) that produces K-12 curriculum materials that are used by Christian schools and homeschooling families around the world.

With Abeka, you can count on high academics AND a biblical worldview so your students aren’t left half prepared to make a difference in the world.Every subject is approached from a Christian perspective, and you’ll find Scripture and biblical principles used to emphasize or illustrate concepts.

Millions of Christian school students have used Abeka since it started in 1972, and over 1 million used it in 2017 alone. Students taught with Abeka have been accepted into prestigious colleges and gone on to serve the Lord in demanding careers.

Our High School is using the Abeka Master Video Program where they are taught through video by accredited teachers. Students who take advantage of the Accredited Enrollment will have their education with Abeka Academy accredited by the following organizations: Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools & Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools.

Our Mission and Philosophy

Our Mission and Philosophy

Our Mission

Los Angeles Christian Academy is a place of learning, development, and transformation that produces men and women of distinguished academics, social and leadership skills, Christ-like characteristics, and biblical worldview.

Our Vision

  • To teach children to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength through a transforming, redemptive, personal relationship with Jesus Christ of Nazareth as Lord and Savior.

    • Mark 12:30 - “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

    • 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  • To enable each student to become an effective, responsible, and pleasing servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, trained for works and service that He has prepared for each one to do by loving one’s neighbor as oneself.

    • Mark 12: 31 - “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

  • To disciple students so they may develop a characteristic lifestyle of being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

    • Romans 8:29 - “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

  • To help the Christian student organize and articulate an account for the hope that lies with him or her with gentleness and reverence.

    • I Peter 3: 15 - “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”

  • To formulate a distinctively Christian mind that is able to think and act according to Biblical principles.

    • Philippians 2: 3 – 8 - “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

    • Philippians 4: 8 – 9 - “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

  • To provide a knowledge of the universe, man’s place in it, and God’s perspective on man and human history in such a way that each student will weigh the value of his or her relationship to Jesus Christ and accept the challenge of lifelong commitment to knowing Biblical principles and obeying His commandments.

    • Psalm 19: 1 – 2 - “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.”

  • To guide students in knowing, comprehending and applying the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith and their practical implications for life in the new age ahead.

    • James 1: 22 - “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

  • To provide a clear perception of truth and the motivation to act in a morally and socially responsible way; to obey God in the fulfillment of His mandates for His people.

    • I Samuel 15: 22 - “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

  • To cultivate a culture and environment where there is a good attitude towards learning and knowledge

    • Proverbs 2:3-5 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

  • To provide qualified teachers and staff members who loves the students, the church, and God

    • 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Our Goal

In the next couple of years, our goal is to start the process of accreditation. We are currently looking at the procedures and requirements needed for our school to be self-sufficient in accreditation. Moreover, we are looking into placing our school under certain authorities for accreditation.

Moreover, our goal as a school is to continually improve in facilities and curriculum. We constantly strive to have our teachers meet the standards and grow beyond it. We are looking into remodeling some of our classrooms to meet the standards needed for education.
